NYSL champions collaborative initiatives with community partners to break down walls of inequity and build bridges toward a more inclusive California, where every life, young and old, is sheltered and empowered.

Our Story

Nurturing Youth-Sheltering Lives (NYSL), formerly known as the National Youth Sports League (NYSL), is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization founded in 2014 by Dwayne Polee, Danielle Howard, Sheryl Harden, and Milton Jhonuelle Hollins. Inspired by Polee’s own personal experiences with adversity, NYSL is a collaboration between the four co-founders to provide positive and enriching experiences for all young people and adults, especially individuals from underserved and disenfranchised communities and those facing whole-wellness challenges.
